Hartridge 27 - Fleur 0

This was another frustrating day at the office for the senior team against a well drilled Hartridge side. We were guilty of starting slowly and gifting Hartridge a early try following some soft tackling. Then some neat play took Fleur into the hartridge 22 for the first time and we were awarded a very kickable penalty which somehow we managed to miss. This handed the initiative back to Hartridge who within minutes had extended their lead to 10 points with another try. The rest of the half followed a similar pattern of mistakes by Fleur being punished by the hosts. Fleur started the 2nd period much brighter and had a period of sustained pressure deep in hartrdge territory but yet again poor execution let the hosts off the hook and following a same pattern as the first period with us being punished. Nobody can doubt the effort the boys put into the game but some of the execution was poor and the only place things like this can be put right is on the training pitch on a Tuesday and Thursday night. hopefully as we go into 2017 the players who have been slacking and missing training will realise this and start to put in the same effort as the core players who turn up week in week out.

On Wednesday night we will play our final game of 2016 against division one side Brynmawr in a Ben Francis Cup Tie at 7.15pm. All players are asked to report to the changing rooms for 6pm
