New Tredegar 17 - 46 Fleur De Lys

After 3 narrow defeats the first xv got their first victory of season against a dogged New Tredegar side. Despite conceding a early try Fleur hit back scoring 3 tries in the first half and were guilty of butchering a number of other opportunities. Some stern words from the coaches at half time saw the team start to listen and play as a team rather than individuals. However 2 yellow cards early in the 2nd half allowed New Tredegar to score a second try but the team weathered the storm and started to use the ball to create space in the outside channels scoring a further 3 tries to round of a 46-17 Victory. Try Scorers on the day were Ellis Roach with a hat-trick, Jordan Clash with 2, and Kris Wheeler with one. Kris Wheeler converting 2, Josef Harris converting 3 and adding a penalty.

The players will be aware they will need to put hard work in training this week in order to avenge their opening day defeat against local rivals Oakdale in next weekend WRU bowl game at Trelyn Park
